Silicon Institute of Technology

The Silicon Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is a private autonomous institute with two campuses in Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar in the state of Odisha. Established in 2001, it is affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and accredited by the NAAC with A Grade. The college offers UG, PG, and PhD courses across Engineering, Computer Application, and various other streams.

The college is ranked 161 by NIRF 2022 for BTech and is placed under the Band B Performer in ARIIA 2021 rankings for innovation and entrepreneurship development. Three of its undergraduate programs, CSE, ECE, and EEE, are NBA accredited.The college has been recognized as an “Incubator” under the Odisha Start-up Policy-2016.

SIT’s main and first campus, SiliconTech, is spread across 18.5 acres in the heart of Infocity, Bhubaneswar. Silicon West is a lush green 37-acre campus on the outskirts of Sambalpur. Both are residential institutes with 2358 students, 154 faculty members, 6 departments, and 54 laboratories. SIT’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs span fields of study in engineering, data sciences, and computer applications.

SiliconTech is ranked 161 in engineering in the NIRF, 2022, by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. It is one among the seven institutes from Odisha in the top 200 rank.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted SiliconTech autonomous status for ten years from the 2018-2019 academic year. Both SiliconTech and Silicon West are affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), recognized by the Government of Odisha and approved by AICTE, Government of India.
